[Oh! Japan] Things I miss about Japan Pt.1 100 Yen stores

Hello everyone,

How are you doing? It's getting colder and colder here and I don't wanna leave the house on most days >__<

Today I want to introduce a new "type" of entries I plan to do on my blog from now on.
As some of you may know I spent a year in Japan from April last year to April this year which was a wonderful and breathtaking experience.
Now I want to share some of my impressions of this year with you.

I will first start with things I miss about Japan.
Before I start I want to say that this is based on my personal experience. Some of the things I liked about my stay in Japan you may not like or absolutely hate. Or maybe there's something about Japan that you adore but won't be featured in my list. Experiences like a year abroad are something very personal and differ from person to person.

[Empties] #04

Hello lovelies,

I hope you’re all doing fine. I finally moved - yay, no more posts that start with “I’m currently stuck between boxes” XD On the downside my body didn’t handle the stress very well and I didn’t only catch a cold I also have to fight with pimples and herpes right now.

Despite all this I wanted to write a post about my empties this month. As always a lot of products collected in my little paper bag…

; Balea Bodybalsam Sensitive (German drugstore brand) – one of my all-time favorite body lotions. As a child I had mild neurodermatitis so I still have to be careful about what I put on my skin. However I also can’t stand textures that are too rich so this was perfect. Lightweight, so it absorbed quickly but still rich enough for my skin. I currently try to use up another body lotion but after that I will definitely repurchase this product.

; Balea Professional Tiefenreinigung Shampoo (German drugstore brand) – A deep cleansing shampoo. It was too strong to use it on my hair every wash but it was very good to clean my make-up brushes. For that purpose I will buy it again.

; Pantene Pro-v Repair&Care Conditioner – I really love this conditioner. I have thick, dry and bleached hair so I need a rich conditioner. I already repurchased it.

; Bodysol Buttermilk & Lemon Shower gel – My mom got me this. It was all right and smelled nice but I have no idea where she got this and it wasn’t so good that I can’t live without it so not buying it again.

; Bifesta Eye make-up remover – I really liked this product. I already wrote a review here and the biggest plus was that it removed my Japanese mascara pretty well (they can be a bitch to get off your lashes…). I’m currently using one from a German drugstore that also seems to work really well. If it turns out the German one is as good as the Bifesta one I’ll continue using the German one until I get back to Japan.

; Etude House Wonder Pore Freshener - as I wrote in my review here I was quite disappointed with this product since I had high expectations. I’m happy it’s finally empty and I’m currently using a toner from Mizon

; Balea Eyecream (German drugstore brand) – was okay but now I’m trying one with anti-aging properties.

; It’s Skin Power 10 VC Effector – Since this was only a sample I can’t say a lot. I used two other versions in Japan because they were on sale but I can’t remember particularly liking them.

; Balea Teatree food cream (German drugstore brand) – Was okay but I didn’t like the smell so I bought another one.

; Etude House, I need you mask sheets in Mango, Acai Berry, Bamboo and Tea Tree – I liked them more than the sheet masks in their A-Z series because they fit my face a lot better. I ordered some masks sheets from tonymoly that I wanna try but I’ll probably gonna repurchase these ones here sometime in the future.

; Tonymoly Panda’s Dream Eye Patch – These were so much fun to use. Made me really look like a panda (I posted a picture on my Instagram) and felt really good. Probably gonna buy these again.

; My Burberry sample – smelled nice but not so good that I would buy the full-size

; green glitter eyeliner – I’ve had this for years but never used it and it’s slowly getting bad so I threw it out.

; Catrice Ultimate Lash Multimizer Volume Mascara (German drugstore brand) – this didn’t work on my lashes at all and clumped so it’s going in the trash can.

; p2 absolute color lipsticks in 121 milky chai and 101 vibrant Barolo (German drugstore brand) – another two products to throw away… they went bad, smelled funny and the texture was strange

; canmake base coat – That was a nice base coat but it got thick towards the end and I couldn’t reach the polish with the brush anymore so bye bye. Probably gonna buy it again when I’m in Japan.

; p2 your wild side black matte nail polish (German drugstore brand) – it’s quite old so it doesn’t have a matte finish anymore. That kinda defeats the purpose of a matte nail polish plus I have a matte top coat so this is going as well.

; p2 pure color lipstick in 110 Place de la Concorde (German drugstore brand) – another lipstick gone bad. Strange smell and strange texture. Also the color made me look really pale and sick.

; lipstick I got as a present a long time ago. The color doesn’t fit me at all and I have so many lipsticks so I decided to get rid of this one.

; Sundance chapstick (German drugstore brand) – this is very old and started smelling funny so gone with it.

; essence XXXL lipgloss in 03 very berry (I think) (German drugstore brand) – The texture of this is awful …it feels so sticky and the color showed up weird on my lips so this is gone as well.

There were quite a lot of products that I decided to throw out this time but I took moving flats as an opportunity to get rid of stuff I don’t need or use anymore.

Once I get settled here I hope I have more time to blog again…I miss posting regularly on here ^^

[Review] Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet in 02 Framboujoise

Hello pretties,

I hope you're all doing fine. Due to moving in one week I'm currently sitting on the floor while writing this entry since my desk and chair is already gone "^^

I wanted to review one of the products I bought in Paris after reading a few good reviews online.

What they say:

Exclusive formula: Matte finish and incredibly light.

Its soft, melting texture glides on to the lips and turns into a matt, velvety and incredibly light colour. Lips are left smooth and soft as velvet.
Enriched with evanescent oils, it’s incredibly sensuous formula provides a soft, second-skin feel, without drying or fading lips.

[Review] Cure Natural Aqua Gel

Hello dears,

I hope you're all doing fine. Germany became really cold lately and I'm busy shivering every day -.-

When it's getting cold it's also time to put more effort into skin care. And what's part of good skin care? Right, exfoliating.
Today I will share a review about a really cool exfoliating product from Japan.

I'm talking about the Cure Natural Aqua Gel.

What they say:
‘Natural Aqua Gel Cure’ gently removes the dried surface of rough skin.
It is a very simple product as approximately 91% of ‘Natural Aqua Gel Cure’ is water.
It is fragrance free. Has no artificial colors or preservatives.
‘Natural Aqua Gel Cure’ is very gentle on the skin. In fact,
it uses a protective solution that is applied by ophthalmologists for eye surgery.

Cosmetics from the 100 Yen store in Japan

Hey~

If you have ever been to Japan I'm pretty sure you know about 100 Yen stores. During the one 1 year I lived in Japan 100 Yen stores became literally my saviour XD You can buy everything there. Yes, everything! And the quality of most things is not that bad if you consider they all only cost 100 Yen, which is roughly 1 Euro or about 70 Cents.

Of course I couldn't leave a 100 yen store without buying some make-up "^^
So, I decided to post about all the stuff I bought there and that was really good~

[What's in my bag]

Hey,

It's been a while since I introduced myself and to be honest I was quite confused what I should upload as my first post. And then I decided for a "What's in my bag". I really like seeing what's in other people's bags and maybe it's interesting for some of you out there since I formed a habit in Japan of carrying a lot if stuff in my bag that none of my friends in Germany would ever think of bringing long XD

 "^^

This is the bag I mostly carry around when going out to any other place than university (since I need my laptop for university, so I always use  backpack).
It's a simple black bag from Primark.

1 my little make-up pouch with a cute snoopy that was an extra in a Japanese magazine~

2 chewing gums in grapefruit flavour. Nothing really special.

3 facial mist. Now, this is something not a lot of people carry around in Germany, I think. Mine is the "I'm Blooming - Sebum Control Mist" from Etude House. Especially now that it's summer I'm very happy to have this. Even though people always look at me like I'm crazy when I spray it on XD

4 Deo Water. I'm pretty sure this doesn't exist outside of Japan. At least I'v never seen it anywhere else or never heard anyone talk about it. This is not the original bottle, I filled it into a little spay bottle in order to carry it around. Basically it's water with some deo-powder in it. It doesn't really have any effect as a deo but I love spraying this on when it's really hot, because it's very refreshing (it has that minty-cool feeling on the skin) and it dries the skin~
5 fake Louis Vuitton wallet that I bought in Japan

6 little wallet for coins. In Japan you automatically always carry around a lot of coins and it's really convenient to bring an extra wallet for the coins. And I couldn't resist buying it because it was so cute >____<

7 Keys. That's it. Nothing exciting "^^

8 MP3-Player. Actually it's my old phone but now I'm using it as an mp3-player because it's still working.

9 Handcream. It's the Mini Bunny Hand Cream in Pure Beige from Tony Moly. So tiny and cute and nice smelling *___*

10 Notepad. This one is from Ojipan a slightly strange panda character from Japan XD I also carry around a pen, which somehow isn't on this picture...

11 Hand towel. I think this is another very "Japanese" thing. I always saw Japanese carrying around those little towels and now I know why. It's really useful. For example when there's no towels at a toilet...or even if there are towels, this is better for the environment than paper towels ^.~ And when you're sweating in summer. I never want to give it away anymore!!

Now the content of my make-up pouch.

1 "cosmetic water" Another "japanese" thing, I guess. It's a middle thing between facial toner and facial cream in a gel type. I'm not really using it a lot though....just in case I have some dry patches

2 band-aids. Cute Hello Kitty band-aids from the 100 Yen store.

3 chap stick. White peach from a 100 Yen store. I have kinda dry lips but nothing really seems to work 100% so I'm sticking to the cheap ones.

4 Marshmallow powder from canmake. It's a bit too dark but the texture is quite unique.

5 birth control. no more comment needed I guess ^^

6 pain killer. Because you never know.

7 anti-histamine from Japan which I got at my university.

8 brush from 100 yen store. I like that you can fold it.

9 Cute oil blotting paper from 100 Yen Shop. They work quite well.

10 Some more anit histamine...yay for hay fever -.-

11 microfiber cloth. For cleaning my glasses or the lens of my camera.

12 perfume. Currently "Little Secret" from Visilisa. The little bottle is also from the 100 Yen Shop.

13 soap. Yes, I'm carrying soap with me...

14 bobby pins and hair tie

15 hand sanitizer. Not only is this a Minnie Mouse special version, it also smells very, very nice~

16 nose spray. Another thing against the hay fever. Not really working though....

17 eye drops against the hay fever my doctor prescribed me

18 cold sore cream. Because I got a cold sore due to the stress...

19 eye drops from Japan. I love them because not only do they moisturize the eyes, they also have a cooling effect

20 mini tic tacs I got at university

21 Mickey Mouse mirror from the 100 Yen Shop (surprise! XD) It's quite big

22  sanitary wipes. I like to use those before eating something rather than the gel so I'm carrying around these as well. Maybe because in Japan you always get sanitary wipes in restaurants so I got used to that.

That was the content of my bag. I hope you liked it~
If you want to know more about something, just ask =^.^=

introduction~

Hallo everyone,

Lately I often thought about making a blog and finally I gave in and did it. I don't think of myself as someone extraordinarily talented when it comes to makeup and skincare but they are a passion of mine and maybe I can help one or the other person.
So I hope you will enjoy this blog.
Hopefully the design will get better soon~
