How are you doing? It's still freezing over here and while I normally doesn't have anything against winter, I wish it would get warmer already...
Today I bring you the review of a product that was honestly a rather impulsive buy:

According to cosdna, there are no red-flagged ingredients (yay!!!), just a few yellow flagged. So it seems like a pretty safe product.
I really like the Holika Holika Aqua Petit Jelly BB Cream (review here) so I looked for another BB Cream from the brand.
In this series, there are actually five types: Essential (Hydrates, firms), Moisture (), Clearing (Improves troubled skin, oil control), Shimmering (Brightens) & Watery (Hydrates, helps control acne).
I was initially very confused which one to choose. The cute packaging and green tea ingredients finally made me decide to get the Watery version.
Green tea is a very popular ingredient for cosmetics: it is said to be anti-inflammatory ¹, provide photoprotection from ultraviolet injury² & have anti-oxidant properties³.
The packaging is a tiny tube that looks like it's perfect for traveling. It contains 30ml of product and the expiration date is printed on the back.
As every other BB Cream I've tried this one has a rather strong smell. It's on the floral side but thank god not as strong as with some other BB Creams and it vanishes pretty soon after applying.
The texture is rather creamy but still easy to spread.
There is sadly only one color option. The different version of this BB Cream have different colors, though. I don't quite get that concept...
I chose to compare the color of this BB Cream against 3 other products. The Holika Holika Aqua Petit Jelly BB Cream in No.1 Aqua Beige, the Skin79 VIP Color BB Cream and Manhattan Easy Match Make-up in 30 Soft Porcelain. Sadly the light wasn't too great on that day but I tried my best and I think you can still see something.
As you can see the Holika Holika Petit BB Cream is not the lightest and a bit on the pink side.
When blended it already looks a lot better. It's still a little bit too dark for my skin right now but I'm pretty sure it will be perfect in summer.
naked face (including very awesome hairstyle and squinting eyes XD) |
applied BB Cream on the left side |
applied BB Cream to whole face |
As you can see this BB Cream gives a rather natural finish. Not deadly matte as in I put a gallon of powder on my face but also not very dewy and glossy.
BB Cream + Concealer + Powder |
Finished make-up |
One of the first things I noticed is the light-weight feeling of this BB Cream. When applied it almost feels like you wear nothing, very pleasant.
about 8 hours later |
On this day I worked on applications and watched drama while snuggled in my blanket and cried (yes, I'm a sap....dramas make me cry).
I still looked presentable after all that so I was rather impressed.
All in all, I really like this BB Cream. It may not be the 100% perfect color match at the moment but the light-weight feeling, natural finish and the fact that it is rather long-lasting make it a satisfying purchase to me.
As for the moisture properties, I cannot say much. I have normal to combination skin so I rarely ever notice if a product is really hydrating or not. It didn't dry out my skin in any case but that's no guarantee it won't do it for people with dry skin.It did what it promised so not much left to complain.
I just wish they had more color options to choose from.
Pros: light-weight, natural finish, long lasting, compact size
Cons: only one color option, scented
Overall: 4,5/5
